DESIGN WALL MONDAY

I've had two busy days of sewing, but finally finished all 20 blocks for my version of Judy's "Pick a Pinwheel" quilt.  I'm loving my choices of fabrics.....  I began sewing the top together, but finally decided that my sewing room was too hot to carry on!

I'm not complaining about the heat, but my sewing room is an added sun room on our Florida home, and is almost all windows.  It receives the full sun from mid-morning until late afternoon, so it does heat up, even with the windows open and the ceiling fan turning!

I'm hoping to get the top together, and the borders added today, so I can return to work on our Godson's birthday quilt.

Check out all the creativity linked to Judy's blog, Patchwork Times.

  3. My sewing space has no central heat or air so I understand having to work with the weather for sewing. Every morning I go to the studio and either turn the heat or the air on to prep the rooms for me. Then I return to the house and do "housework" until the studio is at least tolerable. I did put the insulated fabric on the windows to keep out the summer heat and winter cold. I attached themm with velcro so I can only have them up when needed.

  4. looks beautiful. I wish I could say it is hot here, lol, but it has warmed up a bit and meltin the snow. I have an enclosed front porch that is all windows and I thought about making it a sewing space but it is too hot in summer and too cold in winter.... Love your blocks and can't wait to see them all together!

  5. I normally wouldn't like these colors (separately), but they look fantastic in this block!
