Not much new around my sewing room. I've been too busy shopping and wrapping Christmas presents. I had planned to spend Sunday afternoon making up quilt kits from my stash to take south, but we had a power failure, probably caused by the wind storm, and since I work in the basement with one tiny window, there wasn't enough light to work there. The good news is that DH and I spent the time working on our Christmas cards. We get them prepared before we head south, then our house-sitter pops them in the mail on December first!
I did manage to get some more done on my hexagon quilt. Just have to finish the green round, then I can begin adding the corners to make it more rectangular. DH would like me to leave it as it is, but I think it will be more useful as a more regular shape.
Check out what everyone is working on at Judy's blog.
Lovely!
ReplyDeleteThat must be taking YEARS!!! Looks very similar to one I saw Bonnie Hunter working on when she was here for our guild last week.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't believe what I read, finishing up and wrapping Christmas presents. I just started on mine this weekend. Your hexie quilt is really looking good. How big is it going to be?
ReplyDeleteYour quilt looks great. I agree that I would make in a regular shape. Just a beauty.
ReplyDeleteI love your hexagons - they are beautiful! I kind of vote with your hubby on the shape but it sure would be a booger to bind!
ReplyDeleteI also think you are very organized to have Christmas stuff done already, but since you are headed south it makes more sense. I am one that waits until December....

I'm in awe -- Christmas cards ready, presents bought AND wrapped? I just asked my kids to let me know what they want! Sigh... I'll catch up -- hopefully before January! LOL
ReplyDeleteIt's great. I love the shape.
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't surprise me that someone who is detail-oriented enough to make a lovely, intricate quilt like this would have her holiday cards ready to mail in October--WOW!!
