STASH REPORT SUNDAY

Fabric used this week  7.75 yards
Fabric used year to date  203.125 yards
Fabric added this week  20.25 yards
Fabric added year to date  80.25 yards
Net used 2016  122.875 yards

My numbers always change at this time of year - can't pass up on Black Friday sales.  I went to Joann's on Wednesday at dinner time - no line-ups at the cutting table.

Flannel for backing future baby quilts,

fabric for two more pillowcases

and some "neutral" Christmas prints.  I'm always very selective when choosing fabric at Joann's - some is great while others are not!

My finish was the Calico Friends baby quilt that I shared earlier.

STASH REPORT SUNDAY

Fabric added year to date 33.75 yards

We took our company to the airport very early Thursday morning.  When we returned home DH had to set up to play for a lunch-time pot luck party, and I started to do laundry.  We went to bed early and slept almost 12 hours!
This week, 2 of my local shops had sales, and I had a gift card for one, so I picked up some fabric to complete a 1 block wonder quilt.  I found the fabric for it a couple of years ago, and once I had the block halves stitched, I had to decide on a layout, so I could get the rest of the fabric for the top.  I'll wait to assemble it until we return north, as I don't have a design wall here.
Yesterday we headed to my favourite shop, and waded our way through all the quilters.  I picked up some background fabrics, several red fat quarters, that I'll use for the half-square triangle blocks needed to complete the top, and a turquoise and gold swirly fabric, "just because".
Today I'm washing fabric, and I have a quilt backing to piece.  We only have 1 1/2 weeks until we'll be heading north again.  I hope to get some quilting completed this week.
We did an inventory of meat remaining in our freezer, and made a meal plan for the rest of our time here.  We stocked up on veggies yesterday, and I have to do some prep on a dish to take to friends' home on Tuesday.  We should come out about even as long as we don't get too many more invitations.......

STASH REPORT SUNDAY - WEEK 44

Fabric used this week  0 yards
Fabric used year to date  135 yards
Fabric added this week  27.5 yards
Fabric added year to date  91.25 yards
Net used 2015  43.75 yards

Our first day on the road was rainy and windy - with gusts strong enough to help us change lanes!  We made a stop at Sauder's Fabrics, only to find that the shop is closing soon, so the stock was lower than normal, and everything was 20% off!   They are moving the fabric to Zook's Fabric in Intercourse PA, but I think they will continue to use the website.

I had been asked to watch for baby quilt  panels for my community quilts group, and I found lots of the 36 inch wide panels, with the average price at $3.47!  I'm sure the convener will be please!  BTW, I'm not counting these, as they don't really belong to me!

The rest of the trip was great, with only a few traffic bottlenecks.  We also stopped at Mary Jo's Fabrics in Gastonia, NC.  I shopped for a variety of fabrics, mostly for the new quilt for DS2 and his wife, for their new king-size bed.  I also picked up some coordinating fabrics to help use a piece of fabric that has been in my stash for too long.  I found a cute panel for a growth chart, something the DS2 asked for for our grandson.

I took my sewing machine in on Saturday for its annual spa treatment, and DH dropped off a couple of speakers that have an intermittent problem, but are still under warranty.

We did a huge grocery shopping today, finding most of the basics to stock our kitchen.

DH began cleaning my sewing room.  It has vinyl windows, and they need cleaning after the summer heat and rain.  He has been busy, and I only need to wash the floor before unloading all my stuff, and getting organized, ready to sew.  I've been cleaning inside, and as usual, we keep finding items that we need to continue our work, so they go on the list.  I dislike shopping, and it seems that we shop every day for the first week or so......

STASH REPORT SUNDAY

Fabric used this week  7.375 yards
Fabric used year to date  222 yards
Fabric added this week  9 yards
Fabric added year to date  63.875 yards
Net used 2014  158.125 yards

My last "used" fabric of the year is from the baby quilt and table runner that I completed.  My favourite neighbourhood LQS, Quilts on Plum Lane, had their annual after Christmas sale today - everything 30% off.  I picked up some yellow fabrics to add to my stash, one bright kids print that DH found and the rest was background fabrics, so that I can make my scraps pop, as I try to use up all the small pieces of fabric and leftover strips.

I have some more fabric ordered, but it won't arrive until January, so I'll have to start the year in the red!!!!!

I'm please with my stash usage, and I'll try to improve on my numbers next year!
