Once again, I have nothing on my design wall! I just stitched binding to two baby quilt panels, that I had quilted, and plan to stitch it down by hand during some TV watching with DH tonight!
Just for some more colour, here are 2 more pictures of flowers from the Epcot Flower and Garden Festival.
Now I have to figure out what other small projects I can complete before I have to start packing up to head north!

DESIGN WALL MONDAY
Nothing to show today - I don't even have a sewing room yet!
DH has been busy cleaning the outside of the sunroom, then he has to clean up the garden and install all the buildings etc., for the garden railway. Then the cleaning begins on the inside before I can get my sewing room up and running!
After leaving Mary Jo's, we headed to Charleston SC. We drove down the Ashley River road, and checked out a couple of plantations, but it was too late to really enjoy a tour. We found our way to "California Dreaming" for dinner. It is located in an old armory, and has great water views and fantastic food.
After 2 days on the road, we enjoyed a quiet, relaxed meal, while watching the water and boats on the river.
DH remembered to take a picture of my salad after I had eaten almost half!
Our morning cruise to Ft. Sumter took us past some gorgeous homes along the harbor wall.
The fort is imposing, with the remaining 25 foot walls. It must have been a sight to see when the walls were twice as high!
We enjoyed the talk by the park ranger - we knew its history during the Civil War, but learned a lot about its constructions, and many interesting details. The item that was in the shortest supply during the siege, was sewing needles! They only had 6, and needed to sew the bags holding the gun powder for the cannon charges. Can you imagine how dull those needles were at the end of the siege!
This picture was taken while standing in the remains of the officers' quarters, looking across the fort.
The effort to restore the fort has been a huge undertaking. The museum display was well done, and we enjoyed our morning.
We headed out of town and stayed in Brunswick GA. From there it is about a 4 hour trip to our southern home. We were greeted by our neighbours upon our arrival, and just as DH was unloading the final Rubbermaid tote from the car, a florist truck pulled up with a beautiful arrangement, sent by SDIL2, with a note saying "Happy Mothers-in Law Day"!
I called her right away to thank her for such a lovely surprise! Now off to unpack more stuff!

STASH REPORT SUNDAY
Fabric used this week 0 yards
Fabric used year to date 140.125 yards
Fabric added this week 4 yards
Fabric added year to date 112.875
Net used 2012 27.25 yards
Attended the International Plowing Match quilt show in New Dundee Ontario, and of course had to buy some fabric.
I saw a quilt at the show that inspired me - I have a special project to make for a special birthday this year. 15 of the fat quarters are for the project, and the one with the dragonflies will be used in a Christmas gift.
In front of the quilt show hall they had a small flower display. They used an old iron bedstead and the ladies made quilt block flower arrangements in square foil pans to create a flower quilt. We arrived early and they hadn't all arrived, but it was beautiful!
You can see the space awaiting the final arrangements.
Below are some close-ups of some of the "blocks"
I love pansies, so this was my favourite!

HAPPY NATIONAL QUILTING DAY
I hope everyone has something "quilty" planned today! I'm back at the machine, quilting the second of three quilt tops.
Yesterday, DH and I went to the flower and garden festival at Epcot (Disney World). The display of flowers were beautiful, making me anxious to return north and play in my garden.
Of course, there were topiaries of all the Disney characters, displays of outdoor kitchens, play areas, lectures by some of the stars of HGTV (a sponsor this year), along with all the regular rides and entertainment. It was HOT, HOT, HOT, so we decided to head home around 6:30. Now back to my "normal" life, whatever that is.....

Busy Day!
Off to have my eyes checked this morning, then trying to get my quilts selected, notes written and packed for my trunk show at the Limestone Quilt Guild meeting in Kingston tomorrow night. Just received a call from the program coordinator, asking if I needed anything - just some hands to hold up the quilts as I speak...
I love the shading in the interior of flowers. This tulip is a beauty...

On the Road Day 2
We enjoyed our visit in Athens so much, we decided to go to the South Carolina Botanical Garden at Clemson. This was a much more rustic garden area, but it had a large area of paved pathways suitable for wheelchairs and strollers. (Great quilt pattern!) There were lots of woodland paths as well. The rain from the previous day had finished the daffodils, and the camellias were nearing their end as well. Another place to put on the "must visit again" list.

We drove north to the Asheville area, and stopped for a quick stroll around the downtown area of Black Mountain before continuing on. DH took some pictures of the train station.....

On the Road
We drove through showers, downpours and sunny skies during our first day on the road. We stopped at Andersonville GA, site of a POW camp. It is a moving monument. We didn't spend as much time as we had planned as the skies opened up!

We continued north to Athens GA. As we approached, the skies cleared and we were able to have a quick visit at the State Botanical Gardens. Unfortunately, the visitor centre was closed, so we'll have to return, probably in the fall to see the change in the gardens.
